Prove Your Proficiency Under Pressure

Range Qualification is the final step in the ARX Training system. This live fire session tests the mechanics, accuracy, safety awareness, and speed of each armed team member using their own carry firearm.

Qualification is recommended annually or biannually to ensure your armed team maintains the proficiency needed to protect your congregation. Results are documented and certification is issued upon successful completion.

4 Components

Each component is evaluated individually to ensure well-rounded proficiency.

1

Shooting Mechanics

Evaluate grip, stance, sight alignment, sight picture, trigger control, and follow-through. Proper mechanics are the foundation of accurate, safe shooting under stress.

2

Accuracy Under Pressure

Demonstrate consistent shot placement at multiple distances while managing stress. Scored on grouping, precision, and the ability to maintain accuracy through fatigue.

3

Safety Protocols

Assessed throughout the entire qualification. Proper muzzle discipline, trigger discipline, safe handling during reloads, and awareness of surroundings at all times.

4

Timed Qualification

Complete a timed course of fire that tests draw speed, target acquisition, accuracy, and reload efficiency. Par times are based on real-world response benchmarks.

What to Bring

  • Your own firearm (the one you carry for safety team duty)
  • Minimum 50 rounds of ammunition
  • Eye and ear protection
  • Your concealment holster

Note: Range fees are not included in the course pricing and are the responsibility of the participant or church.

Who It's For

Armed team members who have completed the full ARX Training course progression and demonstrate firearm proficiency. This is a certification event, not a beginner firearms course. Participants should already be comfortable and competent with their carry firearm.

Prerequisites

All three previous courses must be completed before attempting Range Qualification. The progressive training ensures participants have the awareness, de-escalation, and tactical foundation needed for safe live fire.

Requires: Course 1 + Course 2 + Course 3
